Subclass 190 is skilled nominated Permanent Residence –visa.
HIGHLIGHT
- This visa lets nominated skilled workers live and work in Australia as permanent residents.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ALL SUBCLASSES
- Must be invited to apply
- Must have a suitable skills assessment
- Must be under 45 years of age
- Must meet the level of English language required
- Must be able to score 65 points or more
- Must meet the health requirement
- Must meet the character requirement
- Must have paid back your debt to the Australian government
- Must sign the Australian values statement
- Must not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused
BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE VISA
You must submit an expression of interest (EOI) as well as gather and prepare your documents for submission.
An EOI is otherwise known as “Expression of Interest”. You’re letting the immigration department know that you’re interested in working in Australia in an occupation that’s relevant to the list of eligible skilled occupations. In any EOI, you must highlight your occupation, skills and qualifications.
BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR EOI:

- prove all of the claims you make in your EOI
- support other eligibility criteria for the visa

After you submit your EOI, SkillSelect will estimate your points score and rank you against others who want to apply for the visa. Once you receive an invitation to apply for the visa, you can now apply for the visa.
